FAQs
Price?
I currently have a flat rate of $40 / hr for all services.
Can you testify as an expert?
No. My services may help to decide if hiring an expert is necessary, but I do not consider myself an expert in any field, as I am a recent graduate and have not built up my portfolio yet.
Billing?
I prefer payment through bank transfer or a payment app (Zelle, Venmo, CashApp, etc.) I can also receive physical checks at my billing address in Kansas City.
What is your typical process?
An attorney contacts me with a case they’d like me to work on, and tells me what work product they would like, and when they need it by. Most clients add me to the Dropbox for the case, although you can also send files individually. Depending on the assignment, I will normally have my report complete within 2 weeks.
Can you meet in person?
I would love to depending on scheduling and location! I am currently based out of Colorado, but travel to Kansas City frequently. Otherwise, I am always available for a voice or video call.
Quality assurance?
As someone passionate about the criminal defense process, I take my work very seriously. In the event of you not being satisfied with the work product, I will make any requested edits or additions at no extra cost.
How much experience do you have?
2 years. I started working part time on criminal defense discovery while finishing up my master’s degree in Summer 2023.
What states do you work in?
So far, all my work has been conducted in Kansas. I have mostly worked on cases in Douglas, Johnson, Riley, Atchison, and Leavenworth counties. However, I am open to expand to other states.
About Me
Hi, I’m Will Hanson-Regan. I was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2021, Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Biology. I obtained my MS in Environmental Genetics from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga in 2023. I have published multiple scientific papers on the subjects of evolution, microbiomes, metagenomics, and environmental genetics. I spent the last couple years working remotely and traveling extensively. I now have (mostly) settled down in Salida, CO. I enjoy the music of John Prine and Sturgill Simpson. I detest police misconduct and high incarceration rates.
